Badminton: How to hit the shuttlecock from one end of the court to the other?

I just start learning badminton and lovin it. One of the move I'm having problem is actually one of the basic one, to hit the shuttle high and far. I know I have this problem because when I try to aim for the rear line it doesn't go far enough and the result is a smash back against me. I know the problem isn't with my strength but the technique. So someone please help, and be as detail as you can. Thanks!|||hit it overhand so that the racket is shaped something like this: 0

l

as hard as you can so that the racket is at a 60 degree angle from your hand. that will help you achieve what you want|||Just use a fast shuttle :)
