Why is it called a shuttlecock?
In Badminton...|||The "shuttle" part of the name was probably derived from its back-and-forth motion during the game, resembling the shuttle of a loom; the "cocke" part of the name was probably derived from the resemblance of the feathers to a bird's crest.|||The name in badminton was taken from the name of the similar "target item" in an older game. That older game was called 'battledore and shuttlecock鈥?
